For Thanksgiving this year, our friend Joey invited us to come and visit him in New Orleans. Denis has visited him twice before and we've been trying make our way down there together for over a year. So, finally, we made the time!

Denis and Joey's friend Steve and his girlfriend Marina. We had to ride 3 up front in order for the six of us to get around.... my favorite part of this picture is Joey's gf Diana in the rear view mirror. Hi Diana!!
It surely was cold for the Bator's annual fall hayride party. Denis and I were bundled to the high heavens, and weren't bothered by the cold one bit... hooray! I just love this picture of the two of us. Thanks to Rachel for "stealing a bit of Denis' soul"..... :)
Back when doing my internship at Lansing Art Gallery, the Gallery's director, Cathy, told me about the fun hamburger treats she had made for a children's event. For nearly two years this idea has rested in the back of my mind, until about a week ago, when I was brainstorming an idea for Jen's son Noah's 3rd birthday party. It dawned on me where all my great ideas seem to dawn on me- during my morning ritual of trying to wake myself up and pull myself out of bed....:) Needless to say, I was very happy with the result. Aren't they awesome!? Burger Cookies!
Denis and I headed down to Deb's today for a belated birthday dinner. Our little buddy Kolton couldn't have been more thrilled to see us... talk about making ya feel special! It was the first gorgeous fall day of the season... we made sure to enjoy it!
Poor little snot-nosed kid. But still- isn't he a doll?!
Omg. OMG! O.M.G...! Today I received a voicemail from our realtor, Eric, with the news Denis and I have been waiting six weeks to hear- the bank accepted our offer! Unbelievable that the house we fell in love with on our very first day of house hunting is going to be ours... at a steal of deal. Everyone knows I love a good deal, and to me, this house is the mother of all them all... :)
Funny, Denis and I both celebrated our birthdays this past week, and both birthdays came and went without either of us getting what we really wanted- to hear that our offer was accepted and that the house was ours. I had a close call last Thursday (my 27th) when I saw that Eric had called and left me a voicemail- however, he was only calling to fill me in on a new foreclosure listing. Bummer. Well... Denis' 31st was yesterday. Close enough. We'll take this belated present any day!
The next few months are likely going to be hectic, adventurous, fun, stressful, exciting and more- but I'm sure that we are ready for it! I can't wait to get in and begin to make this house our home.
This is the photo of the house as listed on the remax website. I'm also including some of the listing info... just for the fun of it.
This 3 bedroom, 1 bath brick ranch is just outside the city limits of Grand Haven and it's a great deal. There's an extra deep wooded private lot, a 2 stall detached garage, a big storage shed and the brick exterior will last forever. The full basement is good for storage and with some updating of paint, carpet, etc., this home could be brought back to the 50's charming rancher it once was. Sale subject to bank approval of short sale. Price and commission subject to change by bank. Home sold AS IS.

This summer I spent a considerable amount of time at the Spring Lake Beach- on my way to work, in between work, and just about any other chance I had. I will miss my sun worshiping days very much, now that summer is nearing its end... I play with my camera pretty much every visit. It's a great time to relax and attempt to familiarize myself with its operation while surrounded by beautiful scenery. I took this shot earlier today- I think it's pretty cool.
